Vehicle transportation refers to the transportation of a batch of goods by rail or road using at least one wagon (or one freight car for road transportation).
Vehicle transportation includes two forms:
① For direct vehicle access, the shipping unit shall be charged according to the standard tonnage of truck load and mileage.
The whole vehicle is unloaded separately, that is, the starting station and transportation are the same, the different goods at the arrival station are pieced together into a whole vehicle, and the goods are unloaded at different arrival stations in turn. The transport department charges the shipper according to the standard tonnage of the truck load and the maximum mileage of the arrival station.
Vehicle transportation application scenario
Where the weight, nature, volume and shape of a batch of goods need to be shipped in one or more trucks, it belongs to the whole vehicle transportation. In actual work, the general shipper consigns more than 3 tons (including 3 tons) of goods at a time, or although less than 3 tons, but its nature, volume, shape requires a road cargo transport of more than 3 tons, generally according to the vehicle transport processing.
Advantages of vehicle transportation
One car with two or more tickets means that the whole car needs to be loaded and unloaded at multiple points, weighing according to the total maximum load of the whole journey. The whole vehicle shall be loaded by the shipper himself. If the marked deadweight of the vehicle is not fully loaded, the freight shall be collected according to the marked deadweight of the vehicle. Vehicle cargo transport generally does not require intermediate links or intermediate links, short delivery time, the corresponding freight distribution costs are low.
The basis for judging whether a batch of goods is LTL or vehicle does not depend entirely on the quantity, volume or shape of the goods, but also on the nature of the goods and the affordability of the value of the goods to freight. For special goods (including container goods), the carrier usually does not carry LTL regardless of the quantity, volume and shape.
Disadvantages of vehicle transportation
Vehicle transport is a more decentralized and random direct transport of goods from the starting point to the end, which needs to rely on economies of scale to form benefits. Despite the huge scale of the vehicle transportation market, the problem of idle capacity is prominent and the waste is huge. At present, the most urgent need of China's highway transportation industry should be a solution to the problem of vehicle transportation.
What are the goods transported by the vehicle?
The following are all goods that can be transported in a whole vehicle, but the following items need to be transported as normal and not mixed with other items.
1. Goods that need to be transported by special vehicle: such as oil, caustic soda and other dangerous substances, grain, powder and other bulk goods.
2. Unclean goods that are easy to pollute other goods: such as carbon black, fur, etc.
3. Fresh goods: such as frozen meat, frozen fish, fresh fish, live cattle, sheep, pigs, rabbits, bees, etc.
4. Bulk goods: such as coal, coke, ore, ore, etc.
Dangerous goods: dangerous goods that cannot be transported with other goods.
